TOWIE’s Maria Fowler and husband Kelvin Batey announce they are expecting their second child together
Former The Only Way Is Essex star Maria Fowler has announced she is pregnant with her second child.
The 33 year old model is expecting her second child with husband Kelvin Batey, eight months after the pair married in secret.
Maria revealed the happy news on her Instagram page as she shared a photo of her and Kelvin, 38, sat on a sofa with their daughter Evie stood in-between them holding a sign up to her face which has an arrow pointing to the three year old.
The sign then reads “Big sister,” to announce the family are expecting a new arrival in the coming months.
Writing in the caption of the snap, Maria told her 160,000 followers: “In a world full of bad news…,” followed by a baby emoji.
Celebrity friends then rushed to the comments to congratulate the reality star.
Maria’s former TOWIE cast-mate Lauren Pope, who is currently pregnant with her first child, wrote: “Yeyyyyy congratulations again guys, so happy we’re in this together,” followed by a several read heart emojis.
Meanwhile Luisa Zissman, who recently insisted she wasn’t racist after saying she was “really f**king angry at the Chinese for coronavirus, said: “Ahhhhh that’s lovely news,” followed by two red heart emojis.
And Chanelle Hayes added: “Yayyyyyyy!!!! So excited it’s not a secret anymore!!!!,” followed by several blue and pink heart emojis before she continued: “Can’t wait to find out whether it’s a boy or a girl! Eeeekkkkk! Love you guys xx”.
Shortly after announcing her pregnancy, Maria shared her disappointment over her husband not being able to come into her 12 week scan with her.
Speaking in a video shared on her Instagram story while sat on her sofa, she said: “This is major first world problems, but I just feel really disappointed that Kelvin couldn’t come to the scan today.
“I did think maybe that some clinics might be open with them being more medical. But, for those of you that are asking me, there are no baby scan clinics open at the minute – which is fair enough because we’ve all got to stay at home.
“I just think it’s sad for those of you that had just found out you’re pregnant and are wanting some reassurance.
“You’re just gonna have to wait for your 12 week scan. And what the NHS did for me, yesterday, one of the midwives rang me – so they ring people the day before, I think – and told me that I couldn’t take Kelvin.”
She continued: “He waited in the car today, and when I went in today and there were literally men waiting outside the bit you go in, with the waiting room, they weren’t even allowed in the waiting room.
“It’s just really disappointing for the dads, because, obviously, they’re part of the journey as well and I think for the dads it’s hard sometimes to feel really part of it because they’re not the ones that are going through the changes and the pregnancy, so for them it’s their one bit of being connected with the baby.”
Maria then added: “Also, my next midwife appointment has been cancelled and that’s gonna be done over the phone.
“That’s a shame because that’s where they use the doppler and do the heartbeat. But, it is what it is. As long as we all stay at home and hopefully this will be a distant memory soon.”
