Rising SNP star Kate Forbes blasted by trans rights activists over gender self-ID plans – The Scottish Sun
TRANS rights activists in the SNP have rounded on rising star Kate Forbes.
Internal critics targeted the Public Finance Minister, 29, in a feud over the Scottish Government’s gender self-ID plans.
The devout Christian has angered some by being one of 15 Nat politicians who wrote an open letter urging the government not to “rush” gender laws.
SNP national executive committee member Josh Mennie tweeted: “The last thing we need is Kate Forbes climbing the ladder when she has such questionable views on equality.”
Party member and LGBT activist Leeze Lawrence added: “Many people have messaged me with the same concerns.”
But MSP Paul Wheelhouse replied: “There should be respect for both other people’s sincerely-held views and for talented women making a difference in a world where they still face way too much discrimination.”
Ms Forbes has been tipped for the top after her delivery of the £43billion Budget last week.
