Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal was not named to any of the three All-NBA teams the league announced Wednesday, but he’s happy that one of his best friends made the cut.

Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum, who grew up with Beal in the St. Louis area, was named to the All-NBA third team. It’s the first All-NBA selection for Tatum, who’s in his third season with the C’s after they drafted him No. 3 overall in 2017.

Beal made his excitement for Tatum known in an Instagram story posted Wednesday. Check it out below, via Fred Katz of The Athletic:

Tatum led the Celtics with 23.4 points scored per game, in addition to seven rebounds and three assists per contest during the regular season. He also made his first NBA All-Star Game appearance in February.

Blakely: All-NBA nod means C’s must pay up to keep Tatum

Beal is among the biggest snubs from the All-NBA teams. He absolutely deserved to be included on one of the three teams, especially ahead of Houston Rockets guard Russell Westbrook. The Wizards star ranked second in the league in scoring at 30.5 points per game.
