Happening on 28-30 October, the workshop will provide a networking platform for educators to meet around 200 agents and 100 international schools from the Middle East, Central Asia, Eastern Europe, Balkan Countries, CIS Region and some African countries.

The conference is organised by IEFT, in collaboration with its main sponsor, YEDAB, the association of Study Abroad Counsellors, which counts 69 Turkish and 158 international members.

According to IEFT managing director Denis Akar, the new PSW regulations will mean the UK will take a prominent place in the event, building on its popularity with Turkish students.

“[The changes] mean that international students will choose the UK to start their educational journeys or prepare for university study, in the knowledge that they can get a valuable two extra years of experience and using their skills in the workplace,” he told The PIE.

“In our events at IEFT and EuroAsia, we believe that the UK will be more popular than ever as the top study destination and the new regulations will increase the number of students going to the UK.”

The country was already top-of-mind for Turkish students and parents, Akar explained. According to IEFT statistics, 30% of visitors to the organisation’s website indicated that their top choice of study destination as the UK.

The workshop will also host the EuroAsia Awards for education institutions, voted for by agent attendees of the event.

Winners will be revealed in a ceremony that is expected to be attended by around 500 international education sector leaders on 29 October. The shortlist can be accessed here.
