YouTubers KSI and Logan Paul boxing rematch ‘date and venue revealed’
The boxing rematch between YouTubers KSI and Logan Paul has reportedly been revealed as the 9 November at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
Be prepared, guys.
The original match, which took over the internet last year, ended in a draw with both stars demanding a rematch – and it’s only taken them a year.
However, The Athletic has claimed that the rematch is finally set to happen on 9 November at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
Just a bit of an upgrade from the Manchester Arena, then.
Reps for KSI declined to comment. Metro.co.uk also contacted reps for Logan for comment.
YouTuber Ben Phillips recently spoke to Metro.co.uk about the rematch, hinting it could very well happen before the end of the year.
‘I know that Logan is very much gunning to get back in that ring and prove to the world that he can beat KSI,’ he said.
‘If you ask me, yes I do think Logan will beat KSI. End of. It’s just down to the physicality of it.’
With it being reported that KSI earned up to £80 million for the match, there’s no wonder the pair are gunning to go again.
The first match took place last August, with KSI – real name Olajide ‘JJ’ Olatunji – declaring the draw ‘bulls***.’
‘What a fight, man! [Logan’s] athletic background definitely showed in that fight, he had a very good jab. I’ll give him that. Nice and snappy, nice and long,’ he said in a video.
‘Personally I thought I won the fight in all honesty. He was absolutely gassed by the end of the fight and I was still ready to keep going. You saw the fight, I was first to stand up every time after the break.’
The 26-year-old added: ‘It came out as a draw, I thought that was bulls***. It shouldn’t have been a draw, it’s not like I beat him by a landslide, but it is what it is. I brought him into the deep end and he clearly struggled with that. Your boy’s still the champ.’
However, the trash talk has continued after the first fight, with Logan claiming KSI was the one putting off their rematch.
‘I felt about a month ago JJ’s team seemed sort of uninterested in pursuing the conversation about the fight and actually making progress to make it happen.
‘I was unsure if he was going to still do it because guys, I’m still training, and by the way I’m not training for no reason, not to stay in shape.’
‘What happened? I mean, are you even trying?’ he asked. ‘I’m wondering if he’s like losing motivation if he doesn’t want to do it.’
He then added: ‘What I’m saying is this…I’m going to replace you if you don’t step up.’
