Netflix UK return date confirmed
Taking to its official Twitter account today (August 14), the streaming platform told its 641,000 followers that the teen drama returns weekly from Thursday, October 10.
This means that each episode will arrive here across the pond just one day after it airs in the US.
“No idea what’ll happen but I’m sure Archie will take his shirt off for no reason and fight a bear again,” Netflix added, before explaining that “there will be new episodes every Thursday thereafter”.
While Riverdale‘s first three seasons centred predominantly on the Blossom family and the Black Hood murders, its fourth season promises to be a fresh start following the flashforward at the end of the last episode.
“We loved the core four together in the finale,” creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa previously told Entertainment Weekly.
“We wanted to do something that tied them all together for the core mystery and for a big secret,” he continued.
“It felt like having them all around that bonfire, minus Jughead, would be a way to tie them all together so that when we get to the central mystery of what happened that night and what led to the events of burning their clothes, it would be all of our foursome and not the kids split off again.”
Riverdale airs on The CW in the US and Netflix in the UK.
