What will happen in Mindhunter season 2?
At the end of the nail-biting finale of season one, Holden Ford (played by Jonathan Groff) job was in jeopardy after he was caught lying to FBI officials and he called it quits with his girlfriend Debbie (Hannah Gross).
Things took a disastrous turn for Holden when he visited serial killer Ed Kemper (Cameron Britton) in hospital.
Holden was left alone with Ed and the serial killer hugged him, causing the FBI agent to have a severe panic attack in the hospital hallway after he broke free from his grasp.
The new series will take place between 1978 and 1981, two years after season one.
The trailer for the new series suggests seasons two will focus on the real-life Atlanta child murders.
Between the years 1979 and 1981, 28 African-American children, teenagers and adults were murdered.
Wayne Williams was convicted of two murders in the case.
John Douglas, who Holden Ford is based on, was officially reprimanded over his conduct during the case, which suggests Holden in season two will continue to use his controversial interrogation methods to profile the killers
The trailer also teased that Bill and Holden will meet Charles Manson (Damon Herriman).
The entire cast from the first series is back for the second season.
This means Jonathan Groff is back as Holden Ford, Holt McCallany as Bill Tench, (who is based on Robert Ressler) and Anna Torv as Dr Wendy Carr (who is based on Ann Wolbert Burgess).
Also returning for the new season is Sonny Valicenti as Dennis Vader, the infamous BTK killer.
Cameron Britton will premise his role as Ed Kemper, which means there will be more creepy insights from the serial killer to help Holden and Bill with their work.
